Wideband Power Amplifier in High Power Piezo Driver and Plasma Power Supply System

Our wideband power amplifier can be used as a standalone unit, or it can be used as a high power piezo driver or in a plasma power supply system.

Our high power piezo drivers, also known as ultrasonic frequency transducer drivers, are linear power amplifiers with built-in high frequency, high voltage output transformer(s). They are great for powering highly capacitive loads. They have a high power rating of 300 watts to 1200 watts. With a single (or two) output transformer(s) configured at specific frequency ranges, they can cover a frequency range between 10K Hz and 300K Hz. Some applications include, but are not limited to, testing or driving acoustic transducers, piezoelectric ceramics, hydrophones, and applications that require high frequency, high voltage, and high current AC signals.

Our plasma power supply system is a combination of a wideband power amplifier and a high frequency high voltage output transformer. The wideband power amplifier drives the HFHV output transformer, and is made especially for accurate and stable testing on DBD plasma applications. Our plasma power supply system is different from the ones found on the market. They provide stable output voltage at different high frequencies within the operational frequency range of the HFHV transformer. Whereas plasma power supplies on the market are made with LC resonant circuits (inductor-capacitor resonant circuits), where if the value of the capacitive load (plasma load (C)) changes when the plasma is generated, the resonant frequency of the LC circuit will then change as well. As a result, the output voltage (high voltage) will drop accordingly, unless you manually tune the output frequency to match the new resonant frequency. This creates inconvenient operation and can produce unstable test results.

In contrast, our plasma power supply system maintains a stable high-voltage output across a wide frequency range (within the specified operational frequency range of the HFHV transformer) without the need for manual retuning. Operators can focus on experimentation, measurement, and produce stable test results.

As you can see, the wideband power amplifier can be more than just a standalone power amplifier. It gives us the flexibility to build different products for different application needs.
