Amp-Line Corp. has been in the linear power amplifier and AC power source industry for over a decade, and not many people know about our portable power source products. One of our most popular products is the rack-mount AC constant current source, and since 2015, we have produced a sister line, the portable AC constant current source. It is designed for easier transportation and field test needs.
One of our customers, Eaton Corp., purchased multiple units of the portable constant current source. They purchased model AL-25-CR-L/S-P portable AC constant current source and model AL-50-CR-H/S-10A/5A-P portable constant current source for current switch testing. They were looking for a current source that could test and calibrate 1–5 A current switches. Our portable constant current source was exceptionally well suited for their testing need because our unit can run through the current switches without putting a resistor in series.

About the Portable AC Constant Current Source
Our portable AC constant current source provides steady output current independent of load and input power line variations. Some applications include, but are not limited to, generating magnetic fields and testing and qualifying products such as circuit breakers, relays, transformers, watt meters, etc.
The portable constant current source is the smaller and easier-to-transport version of our CC-S series rack-mount constant current source. They are stable and easy-to-use power supplies designed with linear circuitry. The default output frequency is 60 Hz, with other fixed output frequencies (50 Hz, and 400 Hz) are available if specified by the customer. The default output waveform is sine wave, and it always starts from the zero crossing point when turned on.
