Description

The BS-08M series multi-channel battery and charger simulators are programmable, and can support up to 8 battery simulator boards. They are ideal for battery simulation and performance testing in BMS, portable devices, and battery tools. They feature a touchscreen, and 19-inch 2U height design that suits system integration, saving equipment space and is convenient for benchtop useThe channels are isolated from each other, facilitating series connection among multiple channels. They feature ultra-fast transient response, variable output resistance for accurate battery simulation, and measures DC current to monitor power consumption of the devices under test (DUT). The model no. AL-BS-08B-063 battery board includes a digital voltmeter (DVM) functionality, removing the need for a separate voltage measurement instrument.

Modular design for easy expansion.
The main unit (model no. AL-BS-08M-000), with battery simulation boards in the range of 6V5A - 12V5A, enables testing with different ranges of requirements. It supports up to 8 battery simulation boards, allowing 8-channel battery simulation. Various boards with different specifications and mutiple units can be combined to simulate larger battery arrays.

Wide-range measurement that are suitable for variousapplications
The battery simulation boards offer a wide measurement range per channel, catering to various battery characteristic simulations. They feature ultra-fast dynamic response with a response time of ≤500µs.

HD color touchscreen operation
The main unit features high-performance color touchscreen display; and the main screen displays 8 channels.

Four-wire connection method to eliminate the resistance of the remote measurement lead
Using a four-wire connection method in which two lines are used for outputting voltage, and the other two directly to measure the voltage of the device under test. By measuring the lines through the SENSE terminal, the voltage drop caused by lead resistance between the battery simulator and the DUT can be eliminated.

Battery characteristics simulation
Real battery simulation, automatic switching between charging and discharging states, internal resistance simulation, suitable for conducting charge and discharge tests on various types of portable batteries. The BS-08M series can also simulate the charge and discharge characteristics of batteries to assist in a wide range of other tests. This series serves multiple purposes, streamlines testing equipment, and optimizes testing processes.

Accurate testing of leakage currents and idle currents

Its current feedback has a maximum resolution of 100nA, with current accuracy of 0.1%. It can provide the precision required to monitor the leakage currents in today's and future battery-powered products during sleep modes.

Simulating discharge batteries for charger testing
The simulator can continuously supply current, similarily to an electronic load. This allows the power sources to simulate the discharge of rechargeable batteries, which is used to test the performance of battery chargers or battery charger control circuits.

Various of communication interfaces for instruments and equipment
The standard model comes with LAN and RS232 communication ports, with optional GPIB and RS485 communication ports available upon request.
